Dr.Suraj started his medical career in 1998 and has held various positions within the medical and healthcare industry. In 2001, he joined the Malaysian Ministry of Health as Medical Officer and has working experience in the departments of orthopaedics, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, infection control, out patient, accident and emergency and left in 2005 to become a General Practitioner. He subsequently joined the pharmaceutical industry in 2007 to support medical affairs, clinical affairs, regulatory affairs and quality assurance covering various ASEAN countries for pharmaceutical companies Bristol Myers-Squibb, Novo Nordisk and Abbott Laboratories. Currently he is the Asia Pacific Regional Medical Manager for Bayer HealthCare - Diabetes Care.

It was the 25th day of September and team perfect fit had an afternoon to remember. Team Perfect Fit had an afternoon tea with coaches and students all enjoying an awesome afternoon of fun. The men had a work shop on financial intelligence and the women had an a wonderful time with a professional make up artist! On top of that coach Amy who was the host became the chef of the day! Home made chicken rice, salads and finger food made the menu of the day and boy was it awesomely delicious!

Just a few months back, Team Perfect Fit was interviewed on the radio station BFM the Business Station and someone mentioned just how nice it would be if Perfect Fit would be able to appear on national TV next..... true to the Perfect Fit spirit... the question asked was WHY NOT? and we didn't ask "how will that happen".

Here we are TEAM PERFECT FIT... the premier weight management team... on National TV today!!!!

The Perfect Fit weight management team ran the "Perfect Fit Challenge" 2010 last year and we are proud to present to you the winner of the challenge... here are the stats after 2 cycles (3 months with Perfect Fit) :-

1. Dropped a total of 16kgs
2. Dropped 9% body fat (38.7% to 29.7%)
3. Cholesterol levels dropped from 5.3 to 3.6
4. triglyceride levels dropped from 3.7 to 1.4

Citibank : Another corporate outreach initiative

The Perfect Fit weight management team has been at it again... another corporate outreach program.

This time round, we are elated to have been invited by CITIBANK to conduct a workshop for their staff in two locations in one day. The first workshop was held at their Main Office at Menara Citibank Jalan Ampang in the morning on 28 September 2011.

It was standing room only with the meeting room so full everyone had to stand. Everyone was enthusiastic about the talk and the health screening we provided.

The second workshop was held in the afternoon their training center at Wisma Char Yong, Jalan Ampang and was also very well received.

We want to thank the management of Citibank for involving us in their "Sandbox Initiative" and look forward to further collaboration between Perfect Fit and the "Sandbox Initiative" in the near future.

These past few months have been amazing!

We've had so much to do and so little time to tell you about it. But we're gonna give it our best shot.

We're sure you all know the age old saying that a good picture is worth a thousand words. As this is our best shot after all (refer to previous paragraph for why it is our "best shot"), we have alot of awesome photographs (mostly using the iPhone) worth a few gazillion words which were taken by our super skilled amateur photographers (hereinafter referred to as "the awesome photographs").

So sit back, relax and enjoy what is definately our best report yet, with all the awesome photographs (see, we did refer to it again) -

There is never a dull moment. Startups are always very exciting. It is hard not to have so much fun when we get to help those who have made a decision to take control of their health and manage their weight.

The fun continues as the coaches and students go SHOPPING after the startups to make sure that they learn not only how to eat healthily but how to buy healthily as well. Half the battle is won knowing what is available out there and how to choose from what is available.

... and that is what the coaches of Perfect Fit experienced during the Coach Foundation Class held on the 20th day of August in the year of 2011.

Knowledge, camaraderie, fun and all round good cheer was the order of the day. Much was learned and even more was shared. The full day event which started from 10 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. was so exciting that we are already planning the next one. You need to be there or be square (and whatever else comes from being square, which we are personally not quite sure of). But until we announce the next foundation class, here are some photographs that will show just how awesome it was.

Perfect Fitters had a morning trek up the "I am not sure what's the name" hill near Kepong Manjalara Area" on Saturday 12 February 2011 .

This is fun!

Errr... this is tough!

We've been here before and was determined to climb both peaks this time. A very pleasant trek up with lots of friendly people walking up and down the trek. After many "hello"s and "how do you do"s later... we arrived at the top of the second peak.

We made it!

A really beautiful view of Kepong and Kuala Lumpur... well worth the work walking up. Highly recommended to those who like a light workout in a not so densed jungle environment.

Once is a blue moon, you come across personalities that will surprise you... pleasantly.

One such personality is Sally who is the proprietor of a logistic company SEAGULL Logistics Sdn Bhd in Port Klang, Malaysia. Immediately, you can feel the sensibility, care and warmth in Sally. As all effective and great chief executives are, Sally was decisive and forthright in her dealings with us.

Having sat thru a corporate presentation conducted by Perfect Fit, Sally immediately decided that there are obvious benefits that Perfect Fit's healthpointe weight management program will bring to her staff individually and company as a whole. A quick decision was made to put certain key personnel of the company on the program.

Ashok and Jack were first placed on the program and after 3 weeks of working with coaches Eric and Mei of Perfect Fit, both of them lost in excess of 8 kgs each.

Seeing the positive results, Sally immediately decided to put more staff and even herself on the program. We must mention that the company paid in full for all it's staff who started on the program. This extended even to the spouse of one of the staff who does not work for the company.

Our hats off to you Sally. Your commitment to your staff's welfare is fantastic.

Perfect Fit's coaches Mei, Eric and Bernard attended to the start up class held at SEAGULL'S office last Tuesday 1 February 2011 with Sally, Junaidi, Kumar and Kumar's wife Vaeni.

Perfecft Fit is excited to work with and to be associated SEAGULL under the management of Sally and we know the staff of the company are certainly a lucky lot and are proud to be working for the company.

Coached by coach Bernard and coach in training Ronald (remember him ? ) ... the start up was conducted in Melaka with Ronald and his cousin Angelyn assisting and coach Bernard doing the instructions via the internet.

Jasmine Loke has a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney. She has worked in multiple acute clinical rehab positions in Singapore under the Tan Tock Seng Hospital & Ang Mo Kio Rehab Centre before coming back to Malaysia. In Malaysia, she has worked in Sunway Medical Centre Physiotherapy Dept and later onwards in Pantai Medical Centre. After that, she started Physiowerk Services. She is a registered and practising member of Singapore Physiotherapy Association and the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association

Jasmine is currently the director and principal of Physiowerk Services.

Ronald Tan from Melaka is one of the most gentle and cooperative persons we have ever coached.... when we first met him, our machines could not do a reading on his body fat levels as he was too heavy.... he just smiled and said

The Super Duper Perfect Fit Relationship Committee promised us a fantastic time at the Perfect Fit's monthly coaches/student dinner ... and boy did they deliver!!! This time round we had a triple celebration, Hari Raya, Moon Cake Festival and the birthday babies of Perfect Fit!!

YUMMY!!!

Food was fantabulous, the decorations were great (hand made by the committee!!!) and there were loads of fun and even a lantern making competition!!!

Serious business this!!!

Split into teams and given only limited resources in terms of raw materials and equipment.... the teams were given a mere 10 minutes to come out with a lantern THAT WORKS, a theme and fitting introduction to why their lantern looks the way it looks and why their lantern was better than the rest!!!! hahahahah.

One thing was evident from that exercise... Perfect Fitters are creative people!!!!! Fast on their feet... the creations that came out were pretty good!!!

We think this is the best!

Last minute pitch to the judges... vote us please?

The winning team came out with a boat latern with some very intricate designs.... they won mooncakes which they very sportingly shared with everyone....

Sat 25 Sept 2010 : Team Perfect Fit took a day to be together for a full day of training, planning and working out our team's directions for the coming financial year.

There was an air of excitement for the team as this much looked forward to Perfect Fit seminar finally arrived. Coaches started to trickle in early at 9.30am to help with the setting up and the seminar kicked off at 10 am with a full house and it was a bit of a squeeze but in the true spirit of teamwork.... no one complained at all.

The team will have to consider where to hold our next seminar as we definitely cannot fit into this venue anymore despite taking up their largest room.

A superb day indeed with a lot of work done, a lot of fun and planning and learning. The day ended close to 6pm with a break for lunch in between and with enough time to fit in a quick photo shoot as well!

Lunch was fantastic... pleanty of food to go around and it was yummy too... thank you Mr. Wong our caterer for a superb spread and also for your generosity! You will definitely be our first choice for catering in our next seminar!

Following from our preview held on Sunday.... Team Perfect Fit held it's first mass start up class in Melaka last night 2 September 2010.

Good news Melaka.... Team Perfect Fit is now in town!!

The team held it's first preview in Melaka town last Sunday 29 August 2010 and what can we say... the turn out was typically fantastic!!!

Evidently, the people of Melaka liked what they saw with Healthpointe with Perfect Fit as immediately after our preview, we had 4 new students confirmed starting up with us this week.

Because of that, we will be having our first Melaka healthpointe mass start up and second preview this week. Look out for news about our new students from Melaka by following this blog!

Diabetics.... rising numbers

Diabetics has not become a serious problem for Malaysia and as Team Perfect Fit originates from Malaysia.... this article is certainly close to home.

Here's an excerpt from the article... “There has been an 80 per cent hike in diabetic cases over a period of 10 years (1996-2006) based on the Third National Health and Morbidity Survey last conducted in 2006. Now, Malaysia has the fourth highest number of diabetics in Asia."

Everyone also enjoyed the brief talk presented by the owner of Eco Green on "WHY ORGANIC"... we went home very informed of the need for going organic and aware that any business worth it's salt requires 3 bottomlines (and not just one)... PROFIT, ETHICS AND SUSTAINABILITY.

It's been a busy 2 months for Perfect Fit and also for the writer with a lot of travelling to do as our student base continues to expand all over as well as the launch of Perfect Partners.

A few Perfect Fitters decided to have a change of scenery for our weekly Saturday morning walk.... instead of the usual Lembah Kiara Park.... we went to some place in between Mont Kiara, Kepong and Desa Park City (don't know the exact name of the hill).... just know how to get there again (contact us if you are interested to know where this place is... we are surely going to go back again)

We were pleasantly surprised that in this rapidly developing areas there remains some tracks of forest which is relatively untouched. The air was crisp and this hill was obviously a very popular destination for the locals staying around the area as there were many people going up and down the tracks. Everyone was very friendly with pleasant exchanges of greetings everytime anyone passed by.

It was a nice semi challenging climb up the hill and the view at the top was brilliant with views of Mont Kiara and Desa Park City... very nice.

On the way down, we noticed rubber tappers still at work in this forest.... how interesting at this day and age and in the middle of a densely populated urban area too!

We will definitely be back there!
